Solved

I can't make my sims go home at 1 Tower Penthouse in City Living!

I've tried debugging, removing the mods and resetting the sims. Whenever I click for them to go home, they do but they just stand outside of the residence. I can't even look inside the penthouse and when I go in build mode, it says I'm missing requirements (but the penthouse had all of the requirements needed when I first started playing the household.) So I tried making new sims and moving them in, and it still doesn't work. It's like there's a huge bug or something blocking them from going through with the command. I did have a new patch come in for Origin, so I don't know if it's linked to that.

I really need help with this. I'll take any advice I can get to help solve this

Looks like some file in the game folder are damaged
Step 1. Rename The Sims4 folder to "The Sims4 old"
Step 2. Fix the game in Origin
    Origin/Library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Step 3. Turn on the game - a new game folder will be created and you will have two - one old, one new
Step 4. Check if you still have this problem in the newly created game folder.
    If the problem disappeared
Step 5. Delete in the new game folder following folders:
    "saves" and Tray.
Step 6. Go to "The Sims 4 old" folder and copy - your "saves " folder.
Step. 7, Paste this folder in a newly created game folder.
Step 8. Do the same with Tray folder and TrayDeleteItems file
Step 9. Check if there are newly updated version mods you are using.
Then copy and paste your mods and CC from old mods folder to the new one. First copy the scripts mods every time checking if the game is working properly. If you have a lot of CC try 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
Step. 10. If all is OK - delete The Sims4 old folder.
Your saves and library will be fine and nothing will be damaged

Move your mods folder to the desktop, delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder and fix the game in Origin
    Origin /Library - right-click on TS4 - option"repair game
Check if you still have this problem.

  • @SpaceLiquorMy issue may be a little different. I hadn't used the Torendi Tower penthouse before to play long term, just placed families there that I treated like townies. I just started playing it and when I ordered pizza the driver got stuck. I couldn't take the pizza at all. Eventually they left and I'm not sure where the pizza went. Part of the build disappeared and will not come back no matter what. The elevator no longer works. I can change the home on the lot to any residential lot from the gallery and place a new elevator, it still won't work. I took out my mods and it still won't work.I renamed The Sims 4 folder, repaired the game and in a new save the elevator works. When I copy over the tray and saves, in the save where I had the issue, the issue remains. I think there is no way to fix it. The whole lot, not the house on the lot, is broken. I will bulldoze so no one gets trapped there and I will move the family somewhere else. I really loved them living there but I have been searching for hours and found no solutions for this.

I do wonder, if I hadn't ordered pizza could I have kept playing on that lot?

I may also try restoring to a previous save but I'm worried about how far back I'd have to go and the issue resurfacing.

I've attached a picture with the residence bulldozed so you can see the missing part of the building
