I can't remove the wrench icon for the life of me

The household wasn't - and never was - made with CC. I had mods / CC installed and this icon just loves to appear even though I very, very rarely use CAS CC (I have only 5 items - no skin or any other overlays)

 

To try and solve this issue, I removed all mods and CC from my game by disabling them and moving them out of the folder. I then cleared the cache by deleting the localthumbs and removing all files from the cache folder. This didn't work

 

So I uploaded the household to my households and re-downloaded them. Theoretically any CC used should be removed as it is disabled, but this didn't work

 

So I loaded a clean save file and placed the household. Then I went over to another household to play as them and took the sim to the house my sims are in and I added them to the new household. They are now listed as being in the Pancakes house. But this didn't work either

 

Am I missing a trick here?

    @ZanthiatheMystic The adult one. It goes away if you randomize him as a twin. Do you want the flag gone for uploading ? It doesn't really affect gameplay as such. I would suggest if you want to upload them, put them in CAS, under genetics, create a twin of him, change all the clothing back to what Sean has on, then delete the original sean and reset all the relationships (he'll loose all skill and such of course)

    I randomized him as a completely different Sim and he still flagged so not sure what else you can do.

    @ZanthiatheMystic Do you mean the Tate household in your gallery ? I tried that in my game and the wrench disappeared when I put them in CAS.

    Have you tried a fresh folder approach ?

    Rename your user folder and let the game create a new one, then go into the gallery and re-download (all your saves and stuff will be gone but it's still all in the renamed folder).

    No, it's not the Tate household, but which might not matter

    and I've not, I'll try it. What do you mean by user folder? Do you mean this one;

    C:\Users\[name of PC]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

    I didn't know it was able to create a new one (there's no other folder named user?). Do you mean by a re-install? I've recently done that to fix another issue and I moved over to the EA App while I was at it

    Hi, I'm still unsure of what you mean, but I've just removed the following folders; Mods, Tray, Screenshots, Recorded Videos and finally Saves from the folder entirely, not just the contents, but the folders. I then repaired my game. 

    It didn't work, however

    @ZanthiatheMystic Could you upload the household you mean to the gallery ? Maybe there is something about them

    What you do is rename this folder C:\Users\[name of PC]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to C:\Users\[name of PC]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_OLD .. then start the game. This will create a new folder

    I didn't say anything about a reinstall ? What I meant was that once you've done that, start the game and go to your gallery to download the household (you first need to upload it though before renaming the folder) and download it into CAS and check if you still got the wrench this way.

    @crinrict I did that when I removed all folders and then repaired the game. I re-downloaded the family and it still had the wrench icon.

    You can find the family I mean in my library - it should be Simself WIP or something like that, the most recent upload

    I'm re-installing the game right now because it didn't work. Hopefully a complete reinstall will do it, because I otherwise have no idea what could be causing the wrench to still be around

    @ZanthiatheMystic That does retain the wrench for me as well. I'll see what I find and let you know. Reinstalling the game won't make a difference.

    EDIT: Ok, that is sooo weird. The only thing that I found will get rid of the wrench is if you turn Sean into a woman. He seems to be the issue in the household. I have no idea what could be flagging him as cc that isn't there when he's a female.

    @crinrict That's... that's so weird? Which Sean is it? Child Sean or Adult Sean?

    I can't fathom what could have caused it. At the very least, I would assume the problem sim would have been mine (Charlotte - Adult) as she has the most outfits, and was created long ago, before the rest of them

    Thank you so much for looking into it! When my game has been re-installed, I will idk re-do him from scratch I suppose

    @crinrict Thank you for letting me know! Yeah, the sims include my boyfriend and my best friend.

    I was going to make kids of all of us for a mod I found where kids can live on their own, and then for the High School gameplay which I've not bought yet, but was preparing for (for both me, Sean and Becky). I wanted them CC free so that irl Sean and Becky can find and download them easy both now and in the future (Becky keeps on forgetting it's tagged as CC)

    The skills are nothing, I use mods to set them

    @ZanthiatheMystic You might need to do some re-tweaking as I think a twin isn't an exact clone but I think it's easier than using the cloning machine from GTW :D
