I can't turn in motes to become a spellcaster

@REDATHENA, is the Sim who is trying to become a Spellcaster a Mermaid, Alien, or Vampire? Or were they "cured" from being a Vampire? These types of Sims cannot become Spellcasters, and vice versa. (Cured Vampires are supposed to be able to become Spellcasters, but their might still be a bug with Vampires who are cured not behaving correctly.) Many people have tried to turn Aliens, Vampires, and Mermaids into Spellcasters only to get exactly what you are describing.
To test, try to have a Sims who is only a regular Sim to become a Spellcaster! 🙂
@Sashas0nic, I was have never tried to become a Spellcaster by clicking on the motes in my inventory. I've only done it by clicking on the Sage. Still, it is always worth a try to try both ways if you aren't sucessful with one of them. 😉
She was a brand new character. So that wouldn't be the case
I had the same issue. I waited about 5 minutes our time and went to another spellcaster and had them recast see notes or whatever it's called. Collected them again and turned them into Simeon. My Sims a spellcaster now. Hopefully it works.
