Please help. When I started playing another sim family my other sim family was expecting but when I started to play my family that was expecting again they had 2 children. I have the settings on only active household

Do you mean that you were playing rotational play and while you were playing another household, the pregnant sim had finished giving birth?
If so, that is normal. Pregnancy is something different from aging; it is an event that takes place over the course of the pregnant sim's time. That is why it is possible to have a birth even when the aging-off. If you have a pregnant sim and want to play the birth yourself, you need continue to play with that household until the birth is over.
