@dkgiddens Just to be sure, you get this on a vanilla game ? If so, it's best to report it in the bug forum.
@crinrict I am having the same issue and just loaded the game fully Vanilla bc ppl suspected It could be old toddler cc.

For me, this ended up being a glitch with the thermostat. After the power was cut off, it didn't come back on. I turned it off and back on and it started working again. I also had the same problem with lights in a few rooms. Even though they were ON, the rooms were dark. Seems to happen because it was in 3x speed.
