Infant Milestones

My infant keeps having the "said first word milestone" - it's happened 3 times but no notification pop up happens and she doesn't get the actual milestone on the simology panel. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Thank you

    @LuckiCharmed

    Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
    If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

  • I don't use mods or cc at all. It's just the vanilla game. However, saving and going to manage worlds and going back into my household fixed the issue! Thank you !

  • I've been getting this with the learn to wave milestone. It acts like their reaching the milestone and other sims gather to watch the milestone. The infant will wave, but I won't get a notification for unlocking it nor does it appear on the milestones. It's worked in my other saves but for some reason is being difficult in my current save.

    Edit: I saw that saving and going to manage world works. Also saving and exiting the game, then reloading seems to work as well.

    I'm having the same issue with this one family I have. My infant keeps reaching his sit up milestone, I get the pop-up and everything, family gathers around to witness it but it never checks in the milestone box. The infant will be stuck sitting up and when I try to have one of the parents pick him up it shows the blocked error like they can't get to him and I end up having to reset the infant to where he's lying on his back as though nothing has happened. I've left the game, saved and everything, come back and the same thing again. Like the game keeps trying to fix itself it seems but it still won't give him his milestones and I can't even practice them with him.

    @PrettyJ6 Same is happening in my game on Xbox s so there are no mods or cc. Shut the game down, cleared it, restarted, same issue. Notification wall states infant has reached sitting up milestone, parents gather around, baby glows then everything goes haywire. Parent can’t pick up infant, infant can’t do anything, milestone doesn’t show up in simology. Tried everything there is to try. Worked perfectly with first infant. He was a boy. This time I have twin girls. Don’t know if this has anything to do with it.

    @gnosticabyss I don't think twins has anything to do with it because this family had twins first and I didn't have issues with them. This 3rd infant gave me all the problems. And I play with other families with infants in the same save and all the rest of them are fine but for some reason this one infant!

  • Having the same issue. Started with my 4th infant of this family, who could not gain the 'sit up' milestone. It would say she had got it, the family would gather, but no pop-up or unlock would occur. This interaction would spam repeatedly every time I put her in the playmat, to the point where I had to give up and delete the playmat entirely until she aged up.

    I'm on my 5th infant now, no spamming is occurring, but she can't seem to gain milestones at all. She got the 'born' and 'smile', but beyond that, she's just not achieving anything.

    So confusing, because I had no issues with the past 3 infants at all.

  • Click on save and go to Manage Worlds. Click on a different family (without playing them) and then go back to your own family and click play. It fixed my game right away.

    Thanks for the tip, @Pawpardoa! Glad to hear that did the trick.

    This thread is a bit older so we're locking it here to avoid any future necroposting, thanks!
