@darbiniii FYI, you should delete localthumbcache every time you change what's in the Mods folder, not just when you run into issues.
- I'd suggest doing these things again, but in this order:
- Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
- Do a Game Repair
- Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options, if you have personal preferences there.
- Make sure a new save works before exiting and copying other files back
- Copy files back, NOT folders. Don't copy over any of the files the game has remade
- Copy mod files back in batches, and watch for duplicates
If you still have issues, you might need the Using Mods on Macs topic pinned here.
Hi again,
I followed all the steps and the game opens fine with certain CC folders etc. However, it's still rejecting about 75 % of my CC folders. Is there any way to check somewhere in the code or something to see which CC pieces are broken?

@darbiniii Unfortunately, trial and error using the 50-50 method is your best option for CC. Most broken CC doesn't get reported to me, and some of it that has been would have been on a "broken" list a long time ago but still available on the internet.

After a lot of trial and error, I am almost 90% sure it actually has to do with storage and iCloud. I turned off sync and moved my game to my desktop and it started working seamlessly. I have too much CC to keep on my computer so I ordered an SSD gaming hard drive and am going to follow Bluebellflora's advice on how to run the game on an external hard drive. Thank you so much for your help
