Is anyone else experiencing event-soc and event-goals not working since HS pack?

Ever since downloading the new High School Years pack, none of my events or social interactions work properly. 

If I invite a sim to a lot, they do not show up unless it is my sims house. If I take a sim on a date, I cannot get them to interact with my sim at all, or randomly in the middle of the date, the date will just end OR it will say on the event tracker tab that my sim is not a part of the event. So none of my interactions for the event trigger and I can't earn higher than bronze events. At prom, sims walk into the photo booth and then walk out without ticking if off the event-tracker tab, and if you try to dance with a sim, nine times out of ten they wont or the interaction cancels. I have done the prom event like 3-4 times, and even if I go with my sims girlfriend who she has maxed friendship and romance with, she can't perform any prom interactions with her. I have even cheated good moods (edit: what I mean is I have cheated needs to be filled, not moods) to make sure there's nothing mood-wise preventing them.

I am using the lots that came with the pack, and I do not use mods.

And a P.S. about fears- with the new fears, no matter how many times my sim progresses at her job or tries to regain her excitement for her job, she still has anxiety over her dead-end job fear. Like, it never goes away and frankly the new wishes and fears have made my game no fun to play because of this. I miss whims. Whims were so much fun because you could do what your sim wanted while also catering the gameplay to what you were interested in doing. Now, my "art-lover" sim makes me go to the museum every 2 days to look at murals or else she get sad or mad. It's getting redundant and boring. I wish we had a choice of how to satiate their wishes so we could switch it up.
