    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Repair the game
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. 
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

Mine is doing the same since the update, but only for kitchen counters. When I loaded the game, the kitchen counters were missing and then when I tried to replace them, I got the same error and couldn't place them. My fountain is also missing in the Tartosa town center lol. Same deal as well with the mods - I removed them with no luck.

    @actuallyalz yea with mine nothing works so i basically cant play the game i hope they fix it before the new pack as ive pre ordered it and if the game is unplayable i want my money back
