Hello, I've been recently having this same message pop up as well. I can say for sure, it is more than likely not related to cc, mods, etc in anyway. This seems to be a university specific error (obviously degree ya know) so here's what i did. I saved my active household and house and added it to a fresh new save, the error message did not pop up. So from this I knew it wasn't my mods or cc. I think, im not sure. But i think it has to do with a specific household in your game, active or not. My created sims seem fine. But I added sims from the gallery that seem to have caused this error. My suggestion to try.
Save the household you got the error on, recover that household in the load game area on the main menu, (make sure the message pops up from that too, delete localthumb in your file before opening and loading the new recovered save) if it pops on your recover file as well, I would then go to your manage household tab and delete every household in game that you didn't create (to see if its from the gallery, its not base game (i have all the [packs) i checked) then save and exit to go delete the localthumb again. open that same save and see if the error still pops up. If not you fixed it, if it does it might unfortunately be your household you created in that game save. You may have to delete them. Either way this should narrow down those options and you can experiment with what might be wrong. They have not fixed this error and im doing the best i can to help. To prevent this from happening again, i wouldn't add any university related sims from the gallery (at least for now,) so uncheck the University Life tab when finding sims to add. I really hope that helps you guys.
Note: It does seems to be a university cheat possible used on a household you got from the gallery, just in case i wouldn't put in university sims in your game in the future.
- I've been having this issue since I started playing again yesterday. My game has been in hibernation since July 1st. Now I keep getting this LastException every time I load up my household. I only play one family currently in this save (its a challenge save of sorts).My sim (born in game to my own CAS-created sim and a premade) went to University and graduated with honours. No cheats used, neither to enroll, finish terms or graduate. I did, however, get a small mod to make homework faster, but I'm unsure now if I used it at all before her graduation. I had no LE's about degree tracker when I last played. No other mods for University/school/careers.I get the LE as soon as the family loads, no impact on the game, everything functions as expected. I have no sims from the gallery in this save, as it is a challenge play (Fruitcake Legacy), I created the founder in CAS. All generation heirs must be born in game from the previous, and partner up with already excisting premades/townies. No uni cheats were used. LE happens with or without mods. All mods are updated and working as intended, no other errors found.
This just began with me yesterday as well. It's not game breaking in that my Sim still progresses, but it happens often. I have *never* used a university cheat, so that's not the cause. I do have mods but none that I've not had before and I've successfully "graduated" five sims beforehand without this bug. For me this has only happened since the last patch.
I also have issues with student organizations which began before this one (events firing, but no Sims show up, etc.). I don't think it's related, but worth mentioning.
DU is very broken right now...at least for some of us.

Thank you for this suggestion! I deleted every single townie household in the game, saved and exited, and so far I am not seeing this error anymore.
So glad to hear you're not having that dumb error anymore! It was super frustrating and I didn't see much help on the matter glad to be of some service!
