This LE occurred yesterday in my game. I was playing a household of two Sims at University in Dorms. It is just a normal save I created a few months ago in which to play DU vanilla using no special mods or cheats to affect the university gameplay, like speeding up the degree etc. I do use mods and CC in my game as a whole though, and I did use the Freebuild Cheat to add a couple of bits of furniture to the dorms they live in after they moved in. According to the MCCC LE file generated, the affected sim is one of the two I created and play with, so this differs from other people's experience of using other creator's save files and/or premade sims.
The MCCC advice is to kill and revive the sim or follow some advice mentioned earlier in this thread where the sim ultimately drops out of university. I don't want to do either as I made the sim purposely to play through University and she's currently completed 8 out of 12 modules so that's a lot of progress to lose! If I don't do anything will having this LE break the save file in future? I have a whole storyline planned for the affected sim after she graduates.
If anyone needs the information (or can understand it!) the text from the game LE (not the MCCC version) is below:

@JuniperWhimsy Unfortunately, that degree_tracker error really does not go away. It's likely to keep popping up every time you load that household. We've not seen evidence that it permanently corrupts a save, but I will say that if you run into it enough it because hugely annoying -- I finally started a new save as I seemed to be constantly running into this in my previous one (but it was a modded save and had had at least some Sims cheated in it, and had some Gallery Sims as well, who might have had a uni cheat used on them at some point.)
As for causes, there is a chance that it's mod-caused if any mods are indirectly affecting anything in the degree. As noted above, Gallery Sims can be a cause as well as there's no way to tell what cheats were used on them at some point. CharityCodes has a mod on Nexus that might fix the issue, but it's not been confirmed to work recently and it may not work on all causes of the error.
Otherwise, your options are the MCCC fix or to roll back your save to before the error began.

This little LE has been around pretty much since DU was released. As far as I can tell, it's benign, but can be annoying. It does go away though once you get the sims out of university. I'm not sure if it just disappears on its own or when you reload the game and save after the sims have graduated. It generally happens on the first day of class if you have sims that were enrolled but haven't finished and gotten their degree but are not in a term, a mixed household where some sims have graduated and others not, or the first week after all the sims in the household have graduated. For example. You play a term then don't enroll immediately for the next one but send the sims on a vacation for a week. The LE will happen on the first day of class as if your sim was enrolled in the term. Or, if you play a split household with 4 sims on a 3 term schedule and another 4 on a 4 term schedule. The LE will pop up after the first 4 sims have graduated on the day classes would have started for them if they were still in university even though you still have 4 sims enrolled in an active term.
Tbh, it's just annoying because you get the pop up, but it can be ignored. As I said, it will go away and you won't get them any more after all the sims in the household have graduated. You might get one on the 1st week after graduation but that is pretty much it.
Hope this helps.
- JuniperWhimsy2 years agoSeasoned Veteran@CGrant56 thanks for the further information and reassurance it won't break my game! I really didn't want to abandon the degree studies or kill/revive the sim.
I rolled back my save as far as I could and the LE still popped up 4 sim days later, so it must have been created in earlier gameplay but I didn't notice.
I obviously can't do anything about it in this save, but it's something I shall (hopefully!) keep in mind for when I'm playing University with other sims and other households.
What a pesky LE!
