Live Mode Floor Levels/Furniture Issues and Build Mode Platforms Won't Load
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.62.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? V,TLSP,SE,S,PH,PSP,OR,MFPSP,LSP,JA,GRO,GTW,FSK,CoL,ECO,CD,Life of the party dc, Up all night DC, Bonus Content, and Holiday Celebrations Pack
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? For me it happens as soon as I load a save file in live mode since the update today.
What happens when the bug occurs? Whenever I first load into my lot in live mode, my camera is immediately zoomed in to the center of my house on the first floor with no furniture or decorations loading. My floor level also indicates I'm at the lowest level even though I have a basement. If I click to go up a level, both buttons become unclickable and I do not go up a level automatically. If I go into build mode, my furniture suddenly loads and the floor level buttons start to work but my camera doesn't move. If I try to go up a level, it lags and I end up on a layer above my roof (the topmost level). In build mode, my platforms become invisible. I can see what is on the floor below through them and can grab/interact with those items. If I re-enter live mode, it still has the same issues as listed above but the platforms become visible.
What do you expect to see? I expect my furniture to load in when I load into a lot. I expect to be able to properly use my camera and floor level controls in live mode. I expect my platforms to load in build mode.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. It happened after the patch that went live today. My save worked this morning before the patch went live. After I got the Sim Delivery and restarted my game, the issues began.

When I first loaded after the update, I had mods but removed them completely from the folder to make sure none were causing the issues.
I'm not sure what could cause this for you. It's not happening for me, and I haven't seen any other reports of it happening for others. I can think of only a couple of things you can try to see if it will stop and have your game return to normal.
Try deleting the localthumbcache file before you start the game next time. Deleting that file seems to fix a lot of things so it's worth a shot.
Another thing you can try is to move your mods folder to your desktop and start a new game to see if it happens in a new save. If it does, then try a game repair. If it doesn't, then shut down, move your mods folder back in and restart the new save to see if it happens again. If it does, then you might have a mod that needs to be removed or updated. If it doesn't happen in the new save with and without mods, then change saves back to the one where it was happening and see if it still happens there. If not, then you're good to go. If it does, then it might be a problem with that save which means you might have to abandon it.
When testing without mods, you also need to remember to pull any config override files if you are using any. Your problem sounds like it could be a graphics or rendering issue possibly. So, if you are using a custom GraphicsRules.sgr file, then you need to pull that too when you are testing.
Another thing you can do when testing is to rename your "The Sims 4" folder (user folder) and starting the game. A new clean one will get created. Start a new save and see if the problem persists. When you get to the Main Menu to start the new save, you will get the SDX delivery popup so just let it download again. SDX downloads are specific to a user folder so if you use multiple user folders like I do, it will download for each one on the first time you use that folder after an SDX. It could have been that there was some sort of hiccup when it downloaded before. So, if the problem doesn't happen, then you can copy over your mods, saves, tray, screenshots, configoverride, etc. folders and play on.
Hope this helps.
