Lot will not load when traveling - Says incomplete

When I attempt to travel to a lot with my household, it fails to load and kicks me back to the world menu. The lot that I tried to travel to then has an "incomplete" tag on the map screen. There is no error message that pops up and i have tried using betterexceptions to help, but that mod never finishes its scan.

I do use mods and cc, so I will try taking them out and see if that fixes anything. I am also using a downloaded save file, if that means anything.

  • It turned out to be some unnecessary ts4script files from LittleMissSam's mods. I was updating the mods themselves but forgot to delete the defunct script files.

I had this earlier. What worked for me was to load a household that wasn't living there, visit the affected household and, during the visit, switch to the affected household (by selecting the door of the sim being visited).

In my case, I believe the problem might have been caused by cheating to edit a university dorm. What kind of building was it that said it was incomplete for you?

Unfortunately, this issue can have many causes so it's best if you all make your own threads for this.

Make sure you provide the following infos when doing so

    • Any LastException the game throws (you can find them in your documents folder. Please copy/paste the content)
    • Your Platform
    • Test on a vanilla game if you use mods/cc

FrickFrackGirl Please always test without mods/cc before reporting something in the bug forum.

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Repair the game
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry.
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    Glad you found the culprit.

Moving this to the mods forum.
