MCCC and new patch?

I know when a new patch comes out, I will have to update MCCC, right? Do I just uninstall the current one and reinstall the newest one? Also, do I have to update my CC? TIA!

    Copied this from Deaderpools website:

Leave your mc_settings.cfg, mc_tuner.cfg and mc_dresser.cfg files always as they will automatically be upgraded to new versions without you having to redo all your settings.

So, in other words if you replace those files you will lose all of your settings and have to redo them, which is a long process. But do replace all the other files.

I was going to mention that, but you've got it covered. ;)
  • Thank y’all!! I am new to mods and CC so I wanted to check before a patch was released. Luckily the only Mod I have is MCCC. Hopefully my CC will be ok. Y’all have been very helpful.
  • MCCC has a help thread if you need assistance in the future https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/913483/mc-command-center-local-help-chat-thread#latest
  • @Jacknchloe Yes, you just delete all the files of the existing MCCC install and put the new ones in.

Generally with a patch normal CC does not need any updating, but any MODS you use might. There are exceptions where some CC also needs updating, but it's not the norm.

Make it a practice to keep any and all mods you use in a seperate subfolder, perhaps named for where you downloaded it or some other personal approach that makes it easy for you to check the sites of all of your mods for updates after there is a patch. As a rule, do not use ANY mods after a game patch until either:
    1. The modder updates it, or
    2. The modder posts saying that it does not need an update.
