Missing many objects from live edit and debug

So, I have been having an odd issue as of late. When trying to use debug and live edit mode, I am missing a lot of objects that should be there. Fake houses, trees, benches, anything really. What is really confusing is that some of it is there. But only for certain packs, and even with those one, I am missing a lot.

I have turned off mods to see if that is what is causing issues, but it's the same. I have repaired my game, but nothing has seemed to have been fixed.

For context to get a better idea, I have 15 packs (excluding kits) And in the outdoors plants category, I only have access to 5 debug, and 6 live edit, all from Stangerville.

If anyone knows why this is happening, if it has happened to anyone else, or if there is a solution, please do let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Are you sure you have bb.showliveeditobjects enabled?

With just bb.showhiddenobjects enabled I get this in the outdoor trees/plants/flowers/rocks category:

If I then enable bb.showliveeditobjects and load the entire Strangerville catalogue these plants, among others, show up in addition to the hidden debug objects above:

Could you do the same test and show screenshots of your results?

  • So I have done as you said, and it seems live edit isn't working when I put in the cheat. However, even with showhiddenobjects working, I am only getting Strangerville and no other pack (including base game)'s hidden objects.

EDIT:  So, I AM getting liveedit, as well as other pack content, but it isn't showing up in the categories like they usually do. I can only access them in via going to Objects by Function and looking up debug. Still missing a lot, but it's more than what I was getting before. I am unsure why this is the case, but it does seem to be there. Just Strangerville seems to be the only one in "build" and "objects by room".

It is very likely I am being a little stupid, as I've never used live edit with out Better Build Buy, which could be why I'm confused. If that is the case, I am terribly sorry for the waste of time.

I wonder if BBB or some other Mod is interfering with it. Can you move or rename the Sims 4 folder and then load the game, a new one will be created with none of your saves, mods etc in it. Start a new save go through CAS, load a Lot and then enter the cheats to bring up the items.
  • Finally got around to trying what you said and it seemed to have helped. There is so much more than before for debug and live edit. Still missing outdoor plants, but everything else is here. So huge improvement, thanks,

Is there a way I can get my saves back?

Great. They must be there somewhere - we’re all running the same game 🙂 bb.showliveeditobjects may need enabling again.

Your saves are in the Sims 4 > saves folder you moved/renamed. Move them into the newly created Sims 4 > saves folder.
  • Forgot to reply, but everything is good now! I think the issue might had been a mix of BBB not working and issues with the files. But with the recent updated mod and your help, everything seems to be in order! Thank you so much! ^v^

  • Same!! I found it's the Better Build Buy mod. All of TwistedMexi's other mods were fine but this one caused me to lose most of my debug items. Guess I'll just have to wait for the next patch.

@abebarnes You can definitely access debug items with BBB. Head over to TwistedMexi for support on using the mod. You might want to check that you're on the most recent version first (they'll have you check anyway): v3.2.6, March 16, 2024
