[MOD RELATED] Buy mode categories showing all items

Do you have any mods installed? Better build buy, icon overwrites, anything like that?

If you have any mods that affect catalog, try removing them and clear the cache.

If you don't have mods specifically affecting the catalog, or the problem persists after removing them, try removing all mods and test that way.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? In build/buy mode, in any decoration tab, plants, wall décor, mirrors, curtain ex. (ALL decor)
What happens when the bug occurs? When in a decor tab, I see every single build/buy item (windows, some debug plants and furniture) layed out from price high to low. From the "Willow Creek Mailbox" (0 Simoleons) to the "Out of This World Desktop" (15 150 Simoleons)
What do you expect to see? Clicking on a mirror and only seeing mirrors. Clicking plants and only seeing plants.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Right after the "Infant Update" on March 14, 2023

The images attached include examples of disorganized decor options (Screenshot 5) but also the inconsistences between WHERE you click from them organize mode vs. room mode (Screenshot 20 and 21) (I don't know the official names but the different between the little rooms you can pick furniture from and the tabs)

Sul Sul! I am having the exact same issue as the OP and BakingSofa. I did not know I needed to turn off BBB Organized Debug before I uninstalled BBB.

Last night, I went through the entire process of backing up and removing my 'The Sims 4' folder from my Documents to reset the game to factory defaults and then added my necessary files/folders (tray, saves, mods, etc.) back in one at a time, launching the game each file/folder, and it's definitely BBB that's causing the problem. 

But removing BBB didn't fix it (because I didn't know about the Org Debug off thing), so just wondering if I need to go through that process again or if I can just add BBB back in, turn off Organized Debug, and then remove BBB again?

EDIT to add: When I reinstalled BBB, I installed the most recent update from TwistedMexi's site, NOT the old version.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When going into buy per room, everything is appearing under a single tab. Example when you click the bed you get plants, debug cars, basically its not filtered out, and when i go into Search by item its fine but my Custom Content isn't showing up.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Going into Build/Buy and clicking on many (about half) of the categories (whether by room or BB type)
What happens when the bug occurs? A large number of debug items appear in some sections of BB, sometimes without the items that should be there being amongst them. Some items can only be accessed via the search box. Some categories function as expected, some not. E.g. Clicking on fridges brings up a lot of debug items, such as glasses of water, food etc, but no fridges. The same happens when selecting "appliances". Fridges only appear when running a search for "fridge". All plant sections in landscaping contain debug plants, with the real BB items scattered through the catalogue

Please describe the patch or change you made. Update and Growing Together EP downloaded and installed immediately before the bug occurred on 16th March 2023.

I had Better Build Buy and Dine Out mods installed prior to update, but had removed them from the mod folder before downloading the update and EP and saved it elsewhere on my PC outside the EA folder. Never had any CC installed.

A file named "resource.cfg" was in my mods folder after closing the game (the folder was completely empty prior to updating, installing & opening it), but I don't know if that's a normal file placed there by the game, or if it relates in some way to my issue.

I'm aware it seems likely to be linked to BBB Mod, but I don't understand how it could be when the mods weren't in the game (no warning pop-up about mods appeared on opening the game). I have reopened today, and the problem is still there.

@ImpySmodge  I've merged your post with the master thread for this issue.  Yes, it's BBB-related, which means it's by definition not a bug and doesn't need to be treated as such.  As for how the mod affects the game after being removed, please see the accepted solution.
