[MOD RELATED] Horses Don't Appear in Relationship Panel

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.264.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything except some kits
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Adopt / purchase a horse
What happens when the bug occurs? We have 2 horses now. The first was adopted an in-game season ago (long calendar / lifespan) and the second just now. They have never been in the relationship panel and I cannot grow a relationship with them.
What do you expect to see? The horses to show up in my sim's relationship panel and to gain a relationship with them
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Installed Horse Ranch

At first, I thought it was a mod issue, but I've removed mods, repaired game and cleared cache - please advise if there's something else at play.

    Did you? Great! Thanks for not sharing the name of it.

    I ended up going through the 50/50 process myself, eventually arriving at this mod as the cause of the issue:

    Neia - No More Relationship Culling

    Not sure what the original filename is but just search "Neia". 

    Unfortunately this hasn't been updated for several years, but removing the mod, and subsequently performing an interaction with a horse, restores the relationship and allows access to profiles.

    May not be the same mod for everyone but this was my issue.

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    I can confirm that with all new game files, horses do appear in my sim's relationship panel. 

    I could try and move the saved game file over, unless you think the issue is the save itself?

    Thank you for your help, Crin. Here is what I found:

    Putting everything back resulted in the same issue. By chance I had cheated to remove a horse from the household and put it back again, and the horse actually shown up. 

    Putting all of my mods back resulted in the issue persisting even after removing + replacing horse household member. 

    And this is where I've done the 50/50 mod test method for the second time today. 

    I have located the problem mod which causes the issue in the first place, but if you remove it then do the remove from household + add to household cheat, the issue does not persist

    It means I'll have to find a replacement to the mod as its not been updated since 2018, but ah well. If I can't, I suppose I'll just have to awkwardly dance around it

    @ZanthiatheMystic Could you name the mod (unless it's an adult mod, then just say adult mod) for the next person with this issue ?

    @crinrict I have the same issue, and would really love to not have to do the 50/50 shenanigans. It isn't an adult mod (I don't have any) but I have lots more to go through. Naming it would be very helpful.
