Mod/CC causing issues?

I have had the constant issue of not being able to select my sims or being able to select them but their emotions are mixed, like being clicked on the mother then choosing the child and the child is having pregnancy pains or is drunk from wine. Also, their actions panel does not show and their self image is gone along with their emotions and then I can't click on other sims AT ALL.
