Mods & CC issues

I have had the Sims 4 for quite some time now and decided to download some mods. I downloaded all my mods from trusted patreons and tumblr and im 99% sure I did all the downloading steps right as I watched multiple videos and when I went into the game the mods screen appeared. After I had red through it I noticed most of my cc's were in the gameplay mods section with only 1 or 2 being in the CCs section. After I saw that screen I continued and started a new game but only the 1 or 2 ccs that were in the ccs section appeared in my CAS but the ones that were listed in the mods did not. Im not very good with tech and I would appreciate if anyone could help me out as surely im not the only one with this problem.

Edit: I forgot to mention earlier but yes I have turned on both of the ticks for mods and cc in the gameplay settings for Sims 4, I play on a windows (idk if thats helpful or not lol) and I will highlight the cc's that are in the mods section in the pictures I will link with this post. I also noticed that 2 mods are in the cc section and im not sure if thats normal.

FYI: the lines highlighted in yellow are the cc in the mods section that i cant access and the pink is the mods in the cc section.

  • @WallyDog3 Good morning!

Those two sections aren't exactly "mods" and "CC" in spite of their names - they're "script mods" (mods with a .ts4script file) and "non-script mods" (CC and mods without a .ts4script file). So it's normal to see things you think of as "mods" in the non-script section

BUT CC should not be showing in script mods. One possible reason you'll see that is because you have Zip files in your Mods folder. Delete those and check again. You might also just want to delete that CC entirely and try reinstalling it. There's added support on installation in How to Use Mods and CC

If you see a script mod showing in the non-script section, it means you're missing part of the mod. Delete it and redownload.

Hi Thank you so much for your help and I will definitely give that a try, I have deleted and redownloaded my script mod but its still showing up in the wrong section, and the mod isnt working. Is that related to the CC in the mods area or is it completly different??

Thank you so much for your help and ill be sure to give it ago.

P.S I have downloaded and injector as well. Also when I was looking through my files for Zip, rar, and 7z files I noticed most of my mods that are in the mods section but arnt working are zip files, Should I still delete them? and if so what do I do to get/use or redownload those mods since their a zip file?

@WallyDog3 Zip files and similar are just a way to compress the mod files for easy downloading. You need to extract the files (take them out) and then delete the compressed (zip/7z/rar) file.
