Mods constantly breaking, despite having re-downloaded recently?

I had recently deleted mods and then re-downloaded new ones. I am able to play my game, but when I save and exit my game no longer wants to work due to mod issues.

Hi!

I am extremely confused on what to do. So I redownloaded a bunch of my mods in hopes of updating them all to avoid any complications with my mods until the next game update. So I reorganised everything and the game went smoothly after my redownloaded mods. Although after I save and quit after playing, re-join, I haven't added any new mods, my game no longer works? The only notice I get is "application not working". So I force quit the app, and take out certain folders. I see that my furniture mods are the ones influencing the game not working, so I redownload them all!!! And after re-downloading the game still doesn't work? So I check if it's the mods themselves, no! My game now doesn't work with or without my furniture CC?

What I'm trying to say is that, this feels like a never ending problem. I am genuinely so confused that despite redownloading the broken mods, new mods somehow break after? I deleted all the cache and followed the other advice, but none has really worked?

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Or know what steps I could take in order to fix it?

Thank you so much!!!

  • @Sushibritt123 Redownloading won't fix mods that are broken, assuming it's the mods. Note that it might not be, though, or not entirely. Please try this, in this exact order:

    1. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop and/or rename it.
    2. Run a Game Repair
    3. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
    4. Start with New to test if that works. If you don't see only "new" here as a save option, please let me know.

If that works, start putting old content back:

    1. Exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
    2. Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.

    If that works:

    1. Copy your old Tray files (this is your Library), Screenshots and Videos files.
    2. To retest mods now that you have fresh folders, copy the files into the new folder *in batches* with any mods they depend on (injectors and core mods, for example). Don't copy your old resource.cfg file. If you delete any mods from the new folder, delete localthumbcache. Check the instructions on 50-50 testing here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/INFO-How-to-Use-Mods-and-CC/m-p/13439356#FiftyFifty
