Mods folder missing and can’t find resource.cfg file

I can’t find the sims 4 file in electronic arts or anything in documents!

I have sims 4 on origin.

I had to create a mods folder as I can’t find one but it’s obviously not working ☹️

I can only find the sims 4 file in origin games file but it doesn’t come with a mods folder and  I can’t find a resource.cfg file anywhere. I have searched everywhere and when I try to locate things it takes me to the users file but I can’t actually see it in there.

when I lode the game mods are disabled and none of my mods come up on the mod screen on sims 4.

even enabling them and restarting the game hasn’t worked.

every where I go for advice I get the same advice that it should automatically come up after playing the game but nothing works.

I have watched multiple YouTube videos trying to look for a solution but none of them seem to line up with my problem.

I really need some help I’m so stuck 🥲

apologies in advance I’m dyslexic lmao

PLEASE READ

EDIT:

i have provided images in the replies of what i can see when i try to locate the actual mods file.

any advice is appreciated x

EDIT:

I should probably add that I have added mods and CC to my game before and I’ve been playing sims for years. So it’s not that I don’t know how to usually do it.

more of that the files seem to be invisible and when I have found what I think is the actual mods folder it has no Resource.cfg file and yes I have started the game.

@jpkarlsenI should have mentioned I have tried this method. As said though I have been in my user folder and not a lot appears there and I can’t seem to find anything there thank you for the link though.

    @Jsmiz11

When you first start the game, it creates the user folder.

Use the link i posted earlier to find out where it was created. You can also start a game and save it. Exit to the main menu and click Load Game. When you select the game and hover over the copy button the path to the save will be shown.
