Mods not working after re-install

I had an issue getting any of my mods to load in my game so I reinstalled Sims 4. After reinstall and adding a fresh download of mods, they still aren't working. I've tried deleting localthumbcache.package and launched the game, removing and adding a new Mods folder, and reinstalling mods, and haven't gotten anything to work.

I also use CurseForge, and all of the mods I use on there ARE working.

Please open Terminal (Applications > Utilities) and copy/paste this search command then hit enter/return:

    find ~ -type d -name "*Mods*" 2>/dev/null

After a while the command prompt will reappear, this signals the search has ended. Please copy/paste the results from the search in a post here. It should be a few lines looking something like this:

    /Users/XX/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods

You can replace your user account name that appears in the results with XX or something, like I have above, I don't need to know that info but I do need to see the full file path.

  • /Users/xx/Library/Mobile Documents/.Trash/The Sims 5/Mods

    /Users/xx/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods

these are the only results Bluebellflora

Thanks. Is it possible the Mods that aren't loading were in that Mods folder in a folder called The Sims 5 in iCloud that you trashed?

All Mods need to be in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, whether they're from Curseforge or not, unless they're specific Mods that are installed in the game files which the creator should explain clearly in their resource pages. An example of Mods that install into the game files would be ones that change lighting in the game.

Moving your thread to the Mods forum for specific Mod help as your user data folder is in the correct location and not affected by iCloud.

  • I've also uninstalled and reinstalled more than once, and this issue is still occurring
