mods not working

i have been playing the sims with mods for about 2 years now, about two months ago the game updated so i went to update my mccommand center mod and it hasnt been working and ive been trying for the past two months to get it to work. ive downloaded, extracted moved them to the mods folder and allowed them within the game but the only thing to pop up is customcontent mods. i have watched videos followed them to a t and my mods are still not popping up. is anyone else having this issue?
