Mods Sims 4 Please Help

Okay, so I will try to explain the best I can with minimal words and some semblance of coherence.

MY MODS ARE NOT WORKING to put it simply.

I logged in after the new update a couple days ago. Naturally, my mods were all messed up as they usually are after updates. 😬

I can not for the life of me figure out what is going on. I updated them all, I replaced what needed replacing I enabled them in the game and they will not SHOW UP.

I have deleted the mods folder, I have looked for other mod folder on my computer. Im rocking a MacBook Pro (2020)  and for whatever reason I had multiple mods folders so I deleted them and tried to recreate a new folder by way of google instruction. I deleted the cache, the localthumbnail folder thing. ive deleted and re downloaded the mods I use like 6 different times. Ive repaired my game probably 4 times and I have entered and exited the home screen probably 20 times.

I have now spent probably all together 6 hours scouring google on how to fix this issue over the course of two days. I tried creating a new mods folder.

At one point I got the game to recognize the 'animations' of but not the actual mod itself.

I may honestly go insane. Some one must have step by step instructions on how to fix this issue before I throw my computer in my pool.

HELLP

  • @Moth_flame4  Please right-click on the folder that contains your mods and select Get Info, then copy and paste the file path you see under Where.  Please also post a screenshot of the contents of the folder.  You can click cmd-shift-4 and drag your cursor over the screen; the screenshot will land on your desktop.

@Moth_flame4  Please open the game and find the full file path to the folder it's reading, as described here:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

List that file path here.  You can write [username] instead of your actual username, but let me know if you see the wrong username, as in, not the one you use to sign into Windows  And please leave the rest of the file path intact.

Next, open that file path, at least up to the Sims 4 folder, and let me know whether it has a Mods folder inside.

    /Users/areid/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/saves/Slot_00000031.save

It does not have a mods folder in there whatsoever.

Im thinking of just deleting everything and starting over completely.

This seems far to out of my league to get to the bottom of.

Im not sure if its worth mentioning, I had read it somewhere else. I have an iCloud folder in Finder on my Mac and I was seeing that can significantly mess with mods and game files. Thats a whole other can of worms though, because does anyone really even understand the could.
