I actually like that they mourn for their loved ones for a longer time. It seems more human for them to not just forget about it after a few hours or a day. The family I'm playing now just lost one of their beloved cats and they are in mourning for four days according to the moodlet. It just seems way more realistic to me and it's why Meaningful Stories has become my absolute favourite mod to play with.
