Hello I was wondering if anyone knows how to move sims mods and only sims mods and cc over to an external ssd? I just purchased a SanDisk 1TB extreme portable ssd for this because my mods folder is 200 GB and I don’t have much space left of my razer blade pro laptop 17. Also if you move mods to a ssd, can you still download new mods to it and they’ll still show up in game?
Crinrict has a post on how to use a symbolic link for this on her website. You would be moving the whole user folder.
If the link doesn't get broken at all, it should stay reliable as where your mods and saves etc. are seen from. (You can't move only mods.)
Personally, I strongly recommend clearing out a lot of your mods folder. I have never helped anyone with a folder that size that didn't include duplicate files, for starters. You likely have a lot of content you've never used, either.
