My builds are being tagged for custom content but I don't use custom content.

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.55.108.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Attempt to upload a build to the gallery.
What happens when the bug occurs? I attempt to upload a build to the gallery and see the blue wrench in the upper left corner signifying there is custom content in my build.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see no custom content blue wrench, because I don't use custom content in my builds.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This is the first build I've completed and tried to upload since the September 17 patch, so I assume it is patch related.

I do use mods but no custom content. I removed and disabled them while trying to resolve this issue. I tried all the typical workarounds: removed The Sims 4 folder with all contents, started and exited the game, moved saves/etc (not mods) back into the new The Sims 4 folder. I've tried repairing the game. I saved the lot to my gallery, started a new game and placed the lot and tried to upload with the same issue.

I'm also having this issue, unable to water plants in larger planter boxes on public lots. Tested this issue while using the above method with no improvement. I'm not sure if this issue is due to the recent patch because I never built greenhouses on public lots or attempted to water plants on public lots.

@Fat_Lenny777Hi there.. do you have the Luniver SimsTray Importer? This happened to me once and I found the mod causing the issue, was connected to placement of objects, and small appliances. The Tray Importer can help as it will show the culprit mod and anything used for a lot (or sim).
As for the planters, have you checked which way they are placed, that there is no footprint inhibiting the action? (or any resizing?)
Also don't forget the localthumbcache file also needs to be deleted once removing mods before reloading the game.

@Fat_Lenny777 Are you using any pictures you've taken on the build ? That can also cause them to become custom content.

Moving this to tech for troubleshooting for now.

Is your build in the gallery ?

@Sashas0nic Hi! Thanks for the feedback 🙂 I do not have the SimsTray Importer. You say I should download to help detect the culprit mod? It appears as though this is specific to CAS CC, will I also be able to use this for lots/builds?

With the planter boxes, there should have been enough room. All the boxes were gridlocked (didn't use smooth placement via moveobjects). As soon as I changed them to the small planters, which were smooth placed and packed in much tighter than the larger planters (was even able to fit more planters in) I was able to tend the garden and water them immediately

I did delete localthumbcache as well when I started a new The Sims 4 folder. With mods removed and disabled and all new file components except saves, the checked modded folder was no longer there but the blue cc wrench in the upper left corner was still there

@crinrict Hello, thank you for he feedback! I did have paintings from reference (no photos) in the build, which I've done previously with no issue. However, I did remove them all to see if they were the culprit and the build was still tagged with CC.

Also, my build is not currently in the gallery, but I could upload it if that would help

Hi @Fat_Lenny777 yes, the Luniver Sims, Tray Importer can detect all content saved in your Origin Library, both sims & lots. You may find it's 'residual' cc/mod left behind, it's happened to me before ie: a cloned item when placed for example (or even a 'placement mod') may still show the wrench, but all cc will be listed for lots, and sims with that application, so let me know how you go with that.
Example for a sim, but is similar for a lot (will also show any cc attached to a 'picture frame' if on a lot or room)

@Sashas0nic Thanks for the above and for your patience; I wanted to try a few things and the constant going in and out took a lot longer than I expected. And then I wrote out a reply to you but the page timed out and I lost it all.

First, I downloaded and ran the application. It located some mods by LittleMsSam that keep kitchen cabinets, shelves, and paintings visible while walls are down.

Second, I removed these mods and re-disabled and removed all mods altogether. I started the game, checked for CC tag and it was still there.

Third, I removed my custom paintings again. Checked for CC tag and it was gone. Finally I was able to upload my build without the CC tag.

I uploaded a Realm of Magic build prior to the 9/17 patch, however. This build had custom paintings and did not get the CC tag. So the recent patch might have still affected the paintings somehow. I thought it would be cool to have paintings of the Magic Realm hung around Magic Headquarters but it's not that important. Still, kind of a drag that it's no longer available.

HI @Fat_Lenny777 , yes "....shelves, and paintings visible while walls are down." is what I meant by a 'placement mod', these even when removed can still show as cc as it's been 'placed' that way, so even upon removing the mod it was placed with cc.. sometimes by ensuring to delete the localthumbcache file between reloading after changing/removing mods, it can also sort things out.
If you still want those images back, you can 'load' an earlier game save (into a 'temporary game') just for the pictures perhaps.

Hi there, I've had the exact same problem. I have the tray importer and managed to clear a couple of decoration objects that were causing an issue. I'm still left with over 240 (uninstalled) in a folder labelled "packs". I've tried all the problem shooters. I don't know how to fix it and really want to upload my builds! Would it help uploading it to gallery to see if anyone can spot something I'm not???

Hi @lucyalice29 best idea, when in doubt, is to have a separate game where you have mods and cc disabled, then upload the chosen lot or sim from that game, to the gallery.
Hope this helps, but is a surefire way.
nb: as it could be anything "unseen", not to forget to delete the 'localthumbcache' file in TS4 folder.

I came on here because I have the same problem. I tried once to move out my entire mods folder then upload it to the gallery and it worked, the only problem was that when I put the folder back in my sim and townies were in their underwear. So when I wanted to upload something again I only moved out my build buy cc. (I used bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects too and went through debug to make sure there wasn't any hidden cc) But it still said there was CC even with the lot empty! Is there any way I can move out the folder and put it back in without my sims being reset? (also side note: even when I still had build and buy cc in the game I was able to upload a room on the second story but not able to upload one on the ground level)
