Everytime i play it only lasts for about 5-10mins then the entire game freezes.playing on a mac bw!

@Bluebellflora okay ive been playing for about an hour and a half and its been running smoothly and quicker and i havent had a problem yet in my clean game. what should i do next bc there are some saves I really want back? should i just add them back without CC. the one save i was playing though is the only one i experienced trouble with. should I just give up on that one or do we think its most likely broken CC?

I play on a mac and have an old thread in the mac forum. but i emptied my game, and I think that the problem is old/ broken cc. I only use MCCC mod and i had that updated to the latest version so i dont think that is the problem. Im just not sure how I would find out which exact cc is causing my game to freeze.

@kfoiu2h74hgn Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.

@kfoiu2h74hgn Most broken CC doesn't cause game freezing. If it does and gets reported, it'll end up on a Broken/Updated Mods list here (this is the link to the newest iteration), but none has been reported recently. Game freezing is more likely to be a mod. Here are instructions on how to run a test of your Mods folder to find out what's broken: 50-50 Localthumbcache is a file in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 You need to delete that file every time you delete or replace a file in the Mods folder.

So I started a clean game, and copied all my saves over. It was going well for about an hr and then crashed again :/ really not sure what to do at this point. All of my mods/cc I had before this problem, so im not sure that is related.

So it plays in a clean game but not with Mods? Mods need updating to be compatible with the current patch level of the game. You don't just install them and expect them to work forever.

Do a clean game again but this time don't move over your saves, start a new one and play for as long as possible.

Yeah, I updated MCCC to the latest version. but you think I have CC that is broken?
I will take all my CC out and see if that helps, do you think the latest MCCC is fine to keep in or just do without to start?

A clean game is NO CC/Mods. You need to play a clean game with no previous saves or any other content to see if it is a game installation problem, a machine problem, or some other software related problem. If the problem doesn't occur then it's a CC/Mod problem in which case I can move your post to the Mods forum for better troubleshooting. This is the Mac tech forum so we only look at Mac specific Sims 4 technical problems in a vanilla game.
