Also delete the localthumbcache.package.. where do I find that?
@kfoiu2h74hgn Most broken CC doesn't cause game freezing. If it does and gets reported, it'll end up on a Broken/Updated Mods list here (this is the link to the newest iteration), but none has been reported recently. Game freezing is more likely to be a mod.
Here are instructions on how to run a test of your Mods folder to find out what's broken: 50-50
Localthumbcache is a file in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 You need to delete that file every time you delete or replace a file in the Mods folder.

@kfoiu2h74hgn It may not be a mod but CC that's your issue. I see that you've had this issue on and off for a long time. You need to do a test in a clean folder, on a clean save, and then work from there.
Here's how to do that test:
- Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
- Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
- Start with New to test as long as you need to to determine if your issue recurs you have the game-freezing problem.
If that works, let me know and I'll take you to the next step in isolating your problem. Your old saves and mods/CC and Library content will be safe on your desktop waiting for when testing is done.

someone else previously instructed me to do that, so I have already done that. and my game has been running smoothly since. I am just nervous about putting my CC back in as i'm not sure how to tell which may be broken. I put everything on my sims in CAS and everything looked fine? I started the 50/50 method too but so far no figuring it out
