my kid wont go to school

hii, im new to the sims 4 and im having some trouble. my toddler just recently aged up and i cant seem to get him to go to school. the parents have gone to school while the nanny is with my newborn....

    turns out the door was locked for him. i locked it when he was a toddler cus he kept wandering outside.

    im a bit stupid sometimes 💀
