It's also not something the game is designed to do when it updates, but we can help you prevent it happening again. With some luck, we might also help you find your old content.
Note that if your computer system tries to delete a really, really big folder, it won't get stored in the bin; it will get outright deleted. This isn't specific to Sims 4 at all.
@luthienrising - No doubt. They said they had over 150GB of mods. That's massive. If it's gone, it's very gone. I can't even imagine that much modding. My mods folder is 2.55GB and it seems like a lot of stuff.
