My sims 4 won’t open on Mac November 2023

Please help me!

I just updated my MacBook Pro today to Sonoma 14.1.1 and ever since, I have not been able to open my sims 4 game.
Once I removed all my mods, the game did load up again, but when I went to load in up-to-date cc the game would not load, even if it was only 10 or so files…

I have tried repairing the game that didn’t work, I’ve tried alternating between different custom content files to see if one was an issue and that didn’t work, I’ve deleted all the cache files. I’m so frustrated, playing the Sims 4 without cc or mods is not possible, considering the lack of gameplay offered.
i’ve thought about deleting all my mods and my saves and my tray files but that’s five years of work lost. Please help me!

Moved to the Game & Mods forum for Mod help. If your game works without 3rd party content, but not with it, the issue is your CC/Mods. It isn't a Mac issue, nor an operating system or software issue such as iCloud. If you can tell me a Mod or piece of CC which you believe is preventing your game from working, please tell me where I can download it from to test. Nothing behind paywalls please, I loathe that practice and refuse to support it.
  • Hi @mgtqe2ehdgb4 You might find the lists in the Broken/Updated Mods thread helpful. If none of your mods/CC allow the game to open, including newly updated content you've checked for installation details, you might want to make a fresh Sims 4 folder: Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
Launch Sims 4 and reset your options. Then start transferring old content into the new folders.
