@nyimas If you use mods or custom content, please remove them, at least long enough to test. You can make a test sim in a minute or two and then see what happens.
If the game still crashes, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start another new save and see whether you can exit CAS and get into live mode.
If that doesn't help either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

</root> @nyimas Then the problem is something in your Mods folder. You'll need to test the files in batches to narrow things down, and go from there; or else use the 50/50 method if you have a lot of files to sort through.

@nyimas Before you do a 50-50, you might want to check the Broken/Updated Mods & CC list. I've got alternative 50-50 instructions in https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mod-CC-Issues/INFO-How-to-Use-Mods-and-CC/m-p/13439356#FiftyFifty.
