@BrockehPotato, a few questions first:
1) Do you play with Mods or Custom Content (CC)? 🤔 Outdated Mods/CC can cause a lot of problems in your game even if your Mod/CC doesn't seem to be related to your problem! 🤨
2) Does this happen with all the Sims in the household that are old enough to cook?
3) Does this happen in other households (either within the same Save Game or in a different Save Game?)
4) Is something perhaps blocking your oven or counter? Be sure to check walls and windows if they are above or near the stove/counters. This often happens if items were placed using the move objects cheat.
Also, sometime Sims can get temporarily glitched. Often a quick trip to a different lot (friend's house, park, nightclub, etc.) and then back home can fix this. :eahigh_file: For more drastic measures you can also move the family out and then move them back in.
Also, If you use Mods or CC I can help you try to see if an outdated/broken Mod or item of CC is causing the problem, but I will wait to see if you even use them first. 😉
Please update us ! 😇 Best of luck!
@PugLove888, I have no mods or custom content installed. All sims in my household are old enough to cook and won't continue cooking no matter which one it is. This only happens on one of my saved games and on both saved games, nothing at all is in the way of the oven. No lights or anything are on the roof in front of the oven and nothing is on the wall except for the oven hood, which is basically on the roof but shouldn't obstruct the oven at all. I tried moving my sims and bringing them back and it didn't work either. I haven't used any cheats in either of my saved games either.

@BrockehPotato, you could try to move your oven to the middle of the room or into another room to test if that fixes it. There could be something invisible blocking it.🤨 You can also try a new stove, but I don't think that is as likely to work.
I'm checking with some other helpers, and if they can think of anything I haven't already thought of, I will let you know! 😉
@PugLove888, I already tried moving it to the middle and getting a new oven but that didn't work either.

@BrockehPotato, maybe if you can describe exactly what happens. For example does the cooking action stop once they reach the stove or does the action stop while they are still prepping on the counter?
One helper reported to me that one time their Sims couldn't cook because the ceilings were too low! 🤨 I've never heard that one before! 😃 Another person said that they had problems with a light above the stove or counter (I don't remember which). Another person had problems with canceling an action at the stove (their Sim was brewing an herbal remedy) and later no other Sim could cook and they didn't find out why until they zoomed in on the stove and found the herbal remedy!
- Do you have a door way so they can go into the kitchen?

@BrockehPotato, 2 more things: check to see if there is something left in your Sim's oven.🤨 People have reported that this happened to them and that there Sim wasn't able to cook! 😃 Probably isn't your problem since you tried a new stove, but it can't hurt to check! 😉
I also know that you tried your stove in the middle of the room, but did you try your new stove in the middle of the room?
If these don't work , then you can try to delete you local thumb cache & repair your game in Origin.
Go into the Game Folder. Delete the localthumbcache.package file int the game folder .
Log in to Origin. Click on "My Game Library". Then Right-click on The Sims 4. Then choose "Repair" from the list. Wait until all of your packs are fixed (not just the base game).
I know you don't play with Mods/CC now, but if you ever did, it could be a bit of leftover code that is causing the problem. In that case you would need to remove your Mods folder (delete it) and restart the game so it can create a new, empty one. Then delete your localthumbcache.package file and repair you game in Origin as explained above. 😉
Please update me if any of these work or not! Best of luck! 🤞
@PugLove888 @V8CuckooFlower, no matter where any sim in my household is (Even right next to or in front of the oven) it won't continue cooking. The is a doorway into the kitchen and nothing is obstructing the way into the kitchen and to the oven. When my sim is cooking, they stop either half way done or almost done and show a bubble over their head with footsteps leading to a red X. Then no matter where, when or who tries to continue they will make that bubble appear over their head. And nothing is in the oven I am currently using. The sims even cancel everything they are doing to continue cooking but then reveal that the cannot. Every time a sim fails to continue cooking I tell them to clean up and they are able to do that but not able to continue cooking. Then I try to cook something else or the same thing but the whole process loops again. Also I only recently downloaded the Sims 4 and don't even know how to add mods to the game.
@PugLove888, deleting localthumbcache.package and repairing did not work and nothing has changed.

@BrockehPotato, I'm sorry to hear that deleting the localthumbcache.pakage file and repairing your game didn't help! 😞 You must very frustrated! 😢
You can try to have one of your Sims visit a friend and try to cook in their kitchen. This way we can see if the problem is a glitched Sim family or if it is something in their house that is the problem. 😉
It is really difficult to troubleshoot what is going on in your game without at least seeing your kitchen setup. If you could do one of two things it might help:
1) you can attach pictures of your Sims' kitchen taken on the in--game camera to your post so we can see it (preferably both with walls cutaway and walls up).
2) you can upload the house to the Gallery as a test and then myself as well as some other helpers can see if we get the same results with our Sims.
I'm sorry to ask you do all this, but sometimes finding a problem in the game can be tricky! ☹️ You could in the mean time (after you try the things I mentioned above) to play a new Save Game. That way you can still play the game while we are trying to figure out what is wrong with your lot/family/house situation! 🙂
