New Sims 4 Installs are in EP style?

Hi!

I have gotten in contact with tech support about this and no one seems to understand what I'm saying.

I have had Sims 3 and 4 through Origin. They went through My Documents: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

Now, if I find their location, they are now broken up into Ep #s in the Bin like Sims 2 was. E:\Saved Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

Neither Sims game is finding any of my files such as saves, custom music, mods, etc. As I look up the issue, I only see things from before the required switch to the EA App.

I know Sims 2 required that you put CC in a certain Ep and launch it from there. Where do I put CC files now in Sims 4?

I have done multiple uninstalls and installs. Taken everything out that's custom from my docs and put it back in my docs. Nothing has worked. I've attached screen grabs to show what I mean.

  • @poeticintrovrt  Your first screenshot shows some of the game's program files.  I'm not sure what your intended purpose is for E:\Saved Games, but creating that folder and pointing the EA App to it can only affect the program files, not user data like saves or custom content.  Those still go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.

If you want to double-check the file path to the folder the game is reading, you can do so in-game:

Hi! The E:\Saved Games is where I have EA installing all games. I did the same with Origin and before Origin. I have a gaming laptop which, of course, they have no actual room for games, so I use an external hardrive to install because there is 0 space on my computer that is only 500GB. It's not a folder at all.

Before, they just still pulled data files from the actual C drive like normal as if they were installed there.

I believe the link you provided is JUST what I needed, though. I just wanted to see where the game is reading and go from there. Thank you!
