I agree with you, you're totally right to worry about viruses, because the risk is real. My computer started downloading malware with Adfly and Mediafire and I had to force quit. And that's with AdBlock on, plugins disabled, and malware URLs blocked, because they use so many different URLs that you can't effectively block them all.
