As my title asks, does anyone out there know of some good maxis match sites that do not hide their content behind adfly? Its so frustrating to download bunches of cc and have to wade through all of the adfly stuff. Feels like 10 minutes of downloading takes hours with them. Not to mention that it always makes me feel like maybe my pc will get infected with tons of adware and viruses just because of them. Is that a reasonable fear or is it safer than I think and just a pain in the plumbob?

I agree with you, you're totally right to worry about viruses, because the risk is real. My computer started downloading malware with Adfly and Mediafire and I had to force quit. And that's with AdBlock on, plugins disabled, and malware URLs blocked, because they use so many different URLs that you can't effectively block them all.What kind of stuff are you looking for ?

mostly maxis match and clay hairs. I don't mind getting my clothing non maxis match and just going to simsresource for it because the links are relatively clean and don't take a decade and a half to get to the download but the alpha hairs, while beautiful, are frustrating in how they break certain careers (try finding a blond suspect as a detective with alpha hairs...nightmare)Also, I like to have my genetics pass on to my child sims and its hard to know if they are correctly passing with alpha hairs because they are rarely binned with ea colors and will default to some other random color.

Thanks. I've had luck finding several creators with beautiful stuff, but sadly almost all use adfly now and while I get wanting compensation for your work, it can be frustrating to wade through. I'd personally rather donate to the site or do a money subscription to them than deal with the possible threat of malware.

I totally agree. Especially since there are people who like to donate. Personally, I've used for a nonprofit organization site (as a webmaster) integrated affiliation links. People buy products on sale on well known sites with a donation included in the product's price at the same time. Everybody wins :) And it's so much safer than Adfly and Mediafire.

That sucks. I think it's nice that creators can get paid for their hard work, but it's not going to work if there's a malware potential.

I know what you mean. It makes me so frustrated how adfly is used for everything even though it is so bad. I tried downloading cc and then adfly showed up and redirected me to a site that got me flagged by the government. The only website that I actually trust not to redirect me without my consent is modthesims.

I am sorry for people who got malwares and viruses through ad.fly, some ad.fly cc I can't download because ublock and noscript blocks them.
I can't help you with MM sims 4 cc I don't know a lot I wish you the best.

I'm not worried about Adfly, I've never had a problem with virus from using it. The only way to get virus is to download something from the Ad page.

Meanwhile, it's how the creators make money, and usually I don't mind going through an extra 5 seconds of annoying ads to give them some support.

@dreamprisoner I see your point. I guess I'd just rather click a donate button or a subscription button regularly and be able to download without the possibility of having a pc full of adware and malware because many of the links to adfly that I've encountered have infected my machine with these things.

I don't fault our wonderful community of designers for the want/need to make money, I just prefer to hit that donate/subscribe button and know exactly what I'm feeding my pc.
