Not getting the "ask about career" interaction

Help! I'm not getting the ask about career interaction. I was getting it before, even for my unemployed Sims. Now I'm not. I'm trying to get my Sims to "Discuss explaining the family" but I'm not get...

This is a friendly interaction. If you don't see it at first select more under friendly until you see it. Notice if the Sim is in your household and do not have a job you will not have the option. I do not know what you mean by "Discuss explaining the family".
