Notification Box Weirdness

I'm pretty sure that it was after update that I started noticing that my Sims notification boxes started looking "off". I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it's just a poor design change. Sometimes I can barely read the message and for me it's just a bit of an annoyance. Is it just my game, or is this a change that happened with a recent update?
