One vendor only?

(November 2022)

Do lots require that there is only one vendor that will auto populate?

For example, I have a lot that is a custom build with 4 total bars.  Only one has a mixologist.  The others will not allow a hire mixologist option stating there is one on the lot already.

I also have a custom build with no bar, but it has a thrift tea stand, a coffee stand and a cafeteria option.  It's a teen hangout lot.  I also have a pizza food stall on the lot.  No vendors at all auto populate that lot.  I can see a hire option on this lot but it does not appear that anyone ever comes.

Is this a glitch or will these lots not auto populate and staff more than one "vendor" (ie bar, tea, coffee stands, food stalls, cafeterias)?

Is there a mod or a workaround to staff more than one?  (little ms sams mod for vendors does not work on this issue).

None of these lots are lots that should be owned by any sim.  All of the lots are populated and busy with townies and my own sims who are trying to visit and use the lots.

    @mrstank30 Sounds like both. Only one should auto-populate but I think it should be one per type.

    You should definitely be able to hire one for each bar/.. you place though. Did you check if a vendor that you hired is stuck somewhere ?

    Are you using mods/cc currently ?

    @crinrict Hey, I actually tried this in my save too (basegame + Desert Luxe, no mods/CC) and I get the same message "that there is already one on the lot". For completion purposes I checked my legacy version as well, unmodded, same thing.

    Just one bartender shows up on the default Maxis bar (where I added 3 extra bars just for funsies) and no extras can be hired.

    @DeanXeL Might be worth making a bug report then.

    I don't know if this was changed on purpose but I'm sure it worked before. Not the auto-populating but that you can hire a second mixologist.

    Which language are you playing the game in? English
    How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
    What is your current game version number? 1.93.146.1020
    What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Desert Luxe
    Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to a Maxis public lot, place 2 bars, have a sim visit the lot and attempt to populate the second (not auto-populated) bar.
    What happens when the bug occurs? Error saying there's already a mixologist hired on that lot.
    What do you expect to see? Ability to hire another mixologist as long as there are empty bars.
    Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
    Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

    Tested on a clean install of the game, first save.
