@oranitcha If you play with mods, please move the entire Mods folder to the desktop, delete localthumbcache.package, and test. You don't have to save your progress; the point is to see whether this works.
If you have the same issue, or you don't use mods, please let me know the in-game context: whether there's a holiday or another event planned, whether your sim is on the home lot, etc.
Thanks! I deleted Mods and localthumbcache.package and I still have same issue.
When I tried it my sim is on the home lot. I can't choose host but I can choose guests. No event and no holiday.
@oranitcha Could you try to host an even in a different save? I'm curious whether it works at all in your game. You'd probably have to introduce your sims to a few others first.
If that doesn't work, try clearing Origin's cache:

and repairing the game: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.
