Problem with More Columns mod

Question

(Before starting, I have a MacBook Air 2017 model, I know it's an Air but my game works perfectly fine with at least 5gb worth of cc).

Hello everyone, I am having troubles with my Sims 4 game and the more columns mod. Tried to use it in my game the other day only to find it didn't work properly probably because of my screen resolution not being correct (so the columns went off the screen). however, I have tried to remove the mod from my folder and going back into the game it does NOT change anything. the file literally does not exist on my computer anymore. I have merged cc files so I unmerged the most recent ones from the same time as downloading the more columns mod, and it's not on there anymore. The file IS JUST NOT ON MY COMPUTER AT ALL.

From the lack of posts on forums about this topic I have already tried the following 'remedies':

- Move Mods folder out of the Documents folder. start up the game (so it regenerates the Mods folder, then quit the game and move the contents from the original Mods folder and into the newly created folder. Did not work.

- Deleted the cache file. Did not work.

- Gone onto Origin and did the 'repair game' option. Again did not work.

Basically the few remedies I found did not work at all and I'm REALLY desperate to try fix this - please someone help!! if I have to, I will, but... I really don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall my game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

UPDATE!!:The problem was fixed at one point but now it's just gone back to the way it was. It's almost like my CC has been contaminated or something since the mod file was merged with some of my CC. Initially, I had unmerged that CC Merge file, deleted the mod file that wasn't working, and then kept that CC out of the Mods folder - this fixed the problem. But me being an idiot, I added those files that were merged with the mod file back in, and I get the feeling it's ruined all of my CC.I highly doubt there's a way to fix this unless someone has some magic powers and has a way. I'll give it some time but at the rate that I'm going, I'm gonna have to reset my game and delete all my CC. I don't have the time to sort through ALL of the files as 99% of it is merged and being a university student is, well, self explanatory.

Hello,I understand about the merged files, that's how I found it the first time. But its the fact that the file is not there like I cannot stress that enough. The CC that I downloaded the same day as that columns mod is fully deleted, and even though it's fully deleted and it couldn't possibly be anywhere else (contradicting myself here but I will have to have another look), somehow the mod is still there. I just don't know where else it could be because I deleted all the CC merges I made on the day I downloaded the mod, there's no way it could've merged with anything else. still, I'll take another look. thanks for the help!

@solastafaileas  Trash the localthumbcache.package file then repair the game again and see if that helps. Are you syncing your Sims 4 folder at all to a cloud service or other location?

Hello,I just did what you said even though I've tried it already and to no avail!And no, my game is not in the cloud or anywhere.
