Question on MCCC Household Settings

I have created a large family and saved them in two parts to my library. Getting the first part into the game was normal, but how do I add the second group to the family? It won't let me use the "merge" function (for obvious reasons) even though my household size is set to 15.

So, what steps do I need to take to merge them?
