Re: Build mode not working

Hi so I seem to be having the same problem except its not UI extension cheats and I thought that would've been it since it gave me problems in the past. Is there anything else that could be causing this to happen?

I'm not really sure what that means. by saying without any mods you mean to move my mods out of the game and onto the desktop? cause I have a ton of mods and it'll probably never load any time soon. every time i remove my mods by putting onto the dekstop it takes ages and usually doesn't do anything.

Plus I tried taking out old save files to see if that was the cause of it but it didn't seem to make a difference unfortunately.

How would that help though? Taking out my mods folder? Cause I already know one of the mods is making it do this but I don't know how to find out which one that is. I've been sent in circles with info on trying to figure it out and I am still no closer to figuring out why its doing this. It was playing perfectly fine yesterday and all I did was save it and close my laptop. While that might not be the best way to do it, I've done it a few times already and it never ruined anything. Until now. I already deleted the localthumbcache.package and it did nothing. I don't know what backing up my saves are and I don't really plan on spending hours or even days for my laptop to finish moving my mods folder to my desktop. I don't mean to come off harsh that is not my intention. Can I get help to find a solution that will let me play, I am so close to deleting the sims game right now lol.

Here's how to find which one -

    1. Add in HALF your mods.

    2. Delete localthumbcache.package file

    3. Open game and see if problem still exists, if not then it's one of the mods you DIDN'T add in. You then remove all the mods you just added in and add HALF of the mods you didn't add in. If problem still exists then it's one of the mods you DID just add in and also might be in other untested half (so test that as well separately in same way), so you remove half of those mods and delete localthumbcache.package file and run the test over and over adding half of the mods problem might be found in and removing all the mods that don't cause issue, until you find the problem mod (or problem mods, there may be more than one causing issues).

So every time you get a test fail at least one mod is problematic in that test group. Separate fails and success as you go.

Make sure you delete the localthumbcache.package file every single time you add or remove mods.

@idontmccall Did you check out the list ? Anything that is reported broken there should be updated/removed.

If it's not listed, use the 50/50 Method as mentioned above by me and described in more details by @khitteh
