Re: Dining tables cant be used

@carolineflorist Hello!  Is this happening with basegame or other pack tables and chairs?  Are you using CC tables or chairs?  If you're using any CC, I'm wondering if the recent patches have possibly broken some things.  So, maybe you could check to see if those items have been updated.

@carolineflorist  Have you tried testing without any mods/CC?  Try moving your mods/CC to a folder on your desktop.  Delete the localthumbcache.package file located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game for testing.  Also, create a new save to test so that you're not changing anything in your current save.  Even though mods/CC have been updated, we still need to make sure it's not related to mods/CC.

  • Then it works perfectly.

....So it has to be some of the mods then right?
Will that file that i delited come back in my EA folder or does the game run with out it?

Im gonna try delite a few of the mods to check then I guess...

@carolineflorist Yes, if your sims will sit at tables and chairs without any mods / CC, then you'll want to test them to see which is causing the problem.  As for the localthumbcache file, yes it is automatically generated whenever you launch the game and one does not exist already.  Aside from that, you don't have to delete anything until you figure out which mod / CC is causing the problem.  You can put each one back in, one at a time, or if you have a lot of files, I suggest using a 50/50 method.  See the spoiler for a simple example.

    Spoiler

    1. Divide your mods/CC in half (maybe make a folder on your desktop to hold the half you're taking out).

    2. Delete the localthumbcache.package file again, before opening the game with the half you're testing,

    3. If the game works with that half, test with the other half. (Again, delete that cache file before opening)

    4. Once you know which half is causing the issue, divide those in half and test again (delete the cache file again).

    5. Repeat the process until you find the culprit.
