I just saw your post.  So, once you create a sim and save them from CAS, then face and body features are locked.  However,  If you haven't figured it out already, you can use a cheat to change your existing sims' features.  Be aware that, if you play on console, enabling most cheats will disable achievements.  If you want to use a cheat to change face and body features, type control+shift+C (or enter the cheat console on PS or Xbox).  Then in the cheat console type or copy/paste this string ... testingcheats on ... then hit enter.  You should get a notification in the cheat console that "Cheats are enabled" (in Live mode only ... there is no notification from Manage Worlds view).  Then, type or copy/paste this string ... cas.fulleditmode ... and hit enter.  There will be no notification for this one.  Then you can take your existing sims to CAS and change everything.  I hope this helps!
