Re: [MOD/CC RELATED] Error code 140:645fba83

@SimmerStruggles  I've merged your post with the master thread for this error.

Is it possible that you have multiple Sims 4 user data folders, and you removed your mods from the one the game isn't currently using?  Here's how to find out:

And just to clarify, did you add any content into your Sims 4 folder after you reset it?  A corrupt save might still be corrupt even after removing mods.

By the way, if you did uninstall the game, you wouldn't lose access to your packs.  They're all owned by your account, and you have the right to reinstall them, along with the base game, as many times as you want.

@SimmerStruggles  Please move your entire Sims 4 user data folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just start a new save and see whether you can play normally.  Let me know either way.

Your existing saves will be intact, but the game won't read them.  You can put them back later.  First though, let's find out whether a new save works in a clean folder.

  • I did that. But I'll try again last time I tried it didn't work it still shows the error
