Re: MODS Transfer Crashing my Game

Hi,

That helped for sure!

I downloaded some really well-known mods and those worked. I used a new browser and checked and triple-checked the mods and they didn't crash my game. But the working is inconsistent. Mods that should work and the community says they work don't. Is there a way I can deep-dive to see if they will work?

Also new development, I can't download any new CC content and put it in my game without it crashing. So, the script mods I can download and sometimes work but the CC mods cant? I'm not sure I understand the problem.

Your help is really appreciated, thank you thank you!

@LissKa2105  Personally, I'd always test out a new mod or cc item in a new Sims 4 user folder, first moving the existing one out of Documents > Electronic Arts (or renaming it) so the game creates a new one and then adding only that mod.  I understand that can be tedious though; you may want to do this in batches.  Keep using the different browser, and if you use an antivirus, make sure it has exceptions set for Sims 4 and the EA App and isn't flagging your downloads.

I don't really know why this would happen either, but an overzealous antivirus would be one explanation.  Another might be if you have Windows Defender's Controlled Folder Access enabled.  On a different note, if you use OneDrive, make sure it's not full and not having issues syncing your files, or it may help to pause syncing for the moment.
