If I turn off the Mods then the game loads fine but if I go back and re-activate the Mods it will not go past the Neighborhoos screen to the family I have been playing. I don't get any error messages. It just won't let me get into the family lot.
I suppose I should feel lucky as I read other people who can't get their game to load at all (with or without mods). I do think the mods make the game far superior though and I always make sure I have the most up-to-date versions of all my mods before I attempt to activate them so hopefully somehow there will be a solution. I will just go back to playing my vanilla sims and wait for something to occur I guess.
I had the exact same issue I went through my script mods and it turned out to be the KS-PreschoolMod.ts4script. I removed it from my mods and the game went back to usual. Hopefully this is what’s happening to you and you can fix it!
Please start at Broken/Updated Mods & CC. I'm moving you to the main thread for this issue.
You can play with mods - just refer to the broken mods list referenced and check if your rmods are on it. If not on the list then check your mods with the creators of the mods for udpates.
And if all else fails - it's time consuming, but move your mods in groups of 5 to 10 - into yout game mod folder and launch the game each time. If it loads - those mods are fine. If it fails, then one of the mods in the group caused the fail. So remove the last group and then move them one by one - loadng the game each time. When it fails - it is that mod that caused the fail. Remove it from your folder - for when or if there is an update.
Repeat the process of moving your mods as per above.
You shoudl eventually end up with a game you can play - with mods it accepts. No need to play vanilla. Play Mod Detective. Good luck fellow simmer.
Thanks for the suggestion. After several tedious hours of selectively removing and restarting and removing and restarting and on and on and on I did finally figure out which mods needed to go. I also realized I hadn't even been using a bunch so a good housecleaning was in order. Now I have just the most used ones and my game is back running. But to quote Captain Kirk..."for how long?"
