Re: Re: Sims 4 crashing in build mode since latest update + Reaper's Rewards are bug
@slayoncexo Most of the errors in your dxdiag are generic Windows update errors, and it's best to clean those up even if they have nothing to do with Sims 4. So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
For the Sims 4 issue itself, please try running the game in DirectX 11 mode. (Your dxdiag shows it's running in DX9 mode, or at least it was when it crashed.) Right-click your desktop, select the Nvidia Control Panel, choose Manage 3D Settings > Program settings, find TS4_x64 on the list, and select the high-performance Nvidia processor. Do the same for TS4_Launcher_x64.
You can see which mode the game is using at the Main Menu, in the lower-right corner and to the right of the version number. If you still see DX9, go back to the Nvidia Control Panel and specify the Nvidia processor under Global settings rather than program settings, as a test.
